Function:  The Council's mandate is to provide strategic advice to the Minister related to the energy conservation provisions of the Building Code and the Building Code Act.

Membership:  The Minister appoints one or more members to the Council.

Term:  There is no limitation in legislation.

Meetings:  Generally, the Council will meet an average of four times a year. Meetings will be held in Toronto. Some travel time may be required.

Requirements:  Expertise in energy efficiency respecting the construction of buildings is required so that members can advise the Minister on a wide range of energy conservation strategies.
