Function:  Grant Review Teams are advisory committees to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. They ensure effective outreach and communications regarding the funding programs and review grant applications within the guidelines provided by Trillium and including site visits.

Membership:  The members are appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council. The chair is designated by the Minister by Ministerial Appointment letter. The number of members appointed will generally be between eighteen and twenty-four members from the Grant Review Team area.

Term:  Members are appointed for one, two or three years terms are are eligible for reappointment.

Meetings:  Given the nature of the work, team members typically devote 10 to 20 hours per month on average to activities ranging from the reading of documents, to applicant site visits, to team meetings. GRTs will generally meet 4 or 5 times per year for a half-day or full-day meeting. Meetings may be held via teleconference calls, though most tend to be held in person. Some travel is required.

Requirements:  Sound judgement; Team focussed and committed to understanding and working within established granting policies; Broadly knowledgeable of their community and its needs; Generosity of spirit and support for diversity; Knowledgeable regarding at least one of the four sectors served by OTF; Committed to the mission, vision and values of OTF; Comfortable working with technology including websites, e-mail and teleconferencing; Respect for confidentiality of applicant information; Able and willing to invest the time and energy to attend meetings, attend site visits and events.
