Function:  Grant Review Teams are advisory committees to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. They ensure effective outreach and communications regarding the funding programs and review grant applications within the guidelines provided by Trillium and including site visits.

Membership:  The members are appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council. The chair is designated by the Minister by Ministerial Appointment letter. The number of members appointed will generally be between eighteen and twenty-four members from the Grant Review Team area.

Term:  Members are appointed for one, two or three year terms and are eligible for reappointment.

Meetings:  Given the nature of the work, team members typically devote 10 to 20 hours per month on average to activities ranging from the reading of documents, to applicant site visits, to team meetings. GRTs will generally meet 4 or 5 times per year for a half-day or full-day meeting. Meetings may be held via teleconference calls, though most tend to be held in person. Some travel is required.
