Function: The board of trustees is an independent organization, responsible for the ongoing administration of the plan, including investing assets and issuing pension cheques.
Membership: The board of trustees is composed of ten members, five representatives from OPSEU and five representatives from the government. Government appointments are made by Ministerial Appointment letter. A chair and vice-chair are appointed by the trustees, from among the members.
Term: The chair and vice-chair will be appointed for a two year term and all other members will be appointed for a term as determined by their sponsor. Government appointees serve until a successor is appointed.
Meetings: The board meets about eight times a year. The sub-committee on Investment and Administration meets at least ten times a year, the Audit committee meets four times a year, and the Adjudication committee meets on an as needed basis.
