Function:  The corporation provides to the Government of Ontario and its programs, and to others, services related to accommodation, real property and improvements to real property. The board of directors advises the minister on matters relating to the disposition of surplus government land assets as well as portfolio planning, asset management and the financial reporting of the corporation. It approves marketing plans to dispose various surplus government property in a staged, business like manner; makes recommendations as required to ensure the highest possible return on Ontario taxpayers' investment in surplus government land assets; ensures that all transactions in government land are consistent with government priorities.

Membership:  The corporation consists of the members of its board of directors. The board is composed of a chair and at least four and not more than twelve other members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, who also appoints one or more vice-chairs from among the members. If the chair is absent or unable to act or if the office of chair is vacant, a vice-chair acts as has all the powers of the chair. If the chair and vice-chair(s) are absent from a board meeting, the members present at the meeting appoint an acting chair from among themselves to act as and to have all the powers of the chair during the meeting. The Lieutenant Governor in Council, upon the recommendation of the minister, may appoint a chief executive officer to be responsible for operations and for the performance of such other functions as are assigned by its board of directors.

Term:  A member holds office for a term not exceeding three years and may be reappointed for successive terms not exceeding three years each.

Meetings:  The board meets once a month.
