- Roles and Responsibilities
- The Vice-Chair shall act as the Chair in the absence of the Chair.
- As a Grain Financial Protection Board member, the Vice-Chair is responsible for the roles and responsibilities laid out in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Minister and the Chair, and applicable government policies and directives.
- Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of the grain industry in Ontario as a primary agricultural producer or grain dealer / elevator operator. This includes working knowledge of grain trading in Ontario and North America.
- Financial experience in accounting or investments.
- Board governance and risk management experience are strong assets.

The Vice-Chair is appointed for an initial term of up to 2 years and is eligible for reappointment for another term of up to 3 years at the Minister's discretion. - Time Commitment

The per diem rate for the Vice-Chair is $184. Appointees will receive reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out committee duties in accordance with the relevant directives, guidelines and policies of the Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet. Expenses are subject to review by the Integrity Commissioner of Ontario and will be posted on the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs public website.
